Alfred Ely Beach High School

Committed to our mission to educate future generations.

Alfred Ely Beach High School was established in 1867 by the Freedmen’s Bureau with funds donated by Alfred Ely Beach, the editor of the Scientific American, to create a center for education for newly freed people of color in the City of Savannah. Then, and now, we have remained committed to our mission to educate future generations.
